Connie Cycling Riders Shine at Nationals

men-17-18-field-thb_200x200The Connie Cycling Foundation, an LA84 Foundation grantee, continues to have an impact on youth cycling in the United States. Current and former Connie Cycling riders won nine medals at the recently completed USA Cycling Juniors Track national Championships in Trexlertown, Penn. Connie Cycling’s Gavin Hoover, racing in the men’s 15-16 age group, won silver medals in the points and scratch races, and took a bronze in the individual pursuit. Tara McCormick, a Connie Cycling alumna, won national championships in the kierin, team pursuit and team sprint. Chazmichael Morales and Jules Gilliam, who learned to ride the track in the Connie Cycling program, won three medals in their respective categories. Anthony Novoa and James Hilyer, of Connie Cycling, teamed-up for 4th place in the men’s Madison. The 41-event competition took place from July 25-28, 2013 at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center velodrome.  (Photo credit USA Cycling)
